There are very few brands in the world that have sustained their vision, traditions and quality for 118 years. Fewer still can claim consistent family ownership and international brand name integrity, and only one is recognised for creating the world’s most innovative appliances: Miele.
Established by Carl Miele and Reinhard Zinkann in 1899, today Miele is renowned as the world’s leading manufacturer of premium household appliances recognised for the highest quality, performance and environmental standards.
German-manufactured, the company’s products include laundry appliances, dishwashers, a comprehensive range of built-in cooking appliances, rangehoods, coffee machines, refrigerators, freezers, wine storage units and floor care products.
As reflected in its single promise of Immer Besser (Forever Better), Miele has always been committed to continuous improvement with the brand’s appliances tested to the equivalent of 20 years’ usage.
To mark its 15th Anniversary, The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, in partnership with Miele, hosted a unique day of gastronomic discussion and celebration in Barcelona, Spain, on June 27th, 2017.
The event brought together five chefs whose restaurants have been named No.1 in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants over its 15-year history – Ferran Adrià, René Redzepi, Joan Roca, Massimo Bottura and Daniel Humm.
The Miele One To Watch Award celebrates emerging global talent and recognises a restaurant that is outside The World's 50 Best Restaurants itself but has the potential to rise up the list in the near future.
The Restaurant Disfrutar in Barcelona wins the Miele One To Watch Award in 2017. Run by former El Bulli chefs chosen by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants as global rising star.
“We cooperate with many top chefs around the world. Our common goal is the passion for excellent food and the ambition to share culinary expertise with food lovers worldwide. Therefore it is a pleasure for us to partner with The World’s 50 Best Restaurants”, explains Dr Axel Kniehl, Executive Director Marketing and Sales at Miele.
To put this inspiring event about the future of fine dining and the pioneering work of superstar chefs in a wider context, Miele launched “Culinary Art”. This online magazine is searching for the story of pleasure and the great diversity of passion in food.
"Culinary Art" contains interviews, articles and video reportage on the versatility of dining.
